Would you guys know if big movie studios pay attention to The Hollywood Reporter?

Posted by Dapper_Cut_9225

I have been seeing a lot of "Hollywood is dead" articles on The Hollywood Reporter. These articles give advice on how these movie studios could largely benefit, make more money, and how to bring Hollywood back to its prime time. Do you think movie studios actually pay attention to these Hollywood Reporter articles? Me personally I think some of the advice on there for the movie studios is pretty great, I just wonder if they will care.

The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, and Variety are known as “the trades”. They’re pretty much only read by people in the industry. It’s not supposed to be for normies. They also are now all owned by the same parent company. Take that as you will.

I didn't know that lol! I thought it was for everyone (normies) for news about things going on in Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general.

It definitely can be for non-industry people are who interested in the business of Hollywood. If you're interested in the trades, there is also a good podcast called The Town, which is hosted by Matt Belloni, who used to work for The Hollywood Reporter and still has plenty of contacts in the industry and plenty of opinions about what's going on. He played himself in a cameo during season one of The Studio.

They definitely do pay attention. A large majority subscribe to them in email alerts. Problem is there’s really only a handful of individuals at this point that can make a meaningful difference with the changes suggested.

Big movie studios own the Hollywood reporter. WB literally owns TMZ.

If this were true, they wouldnt post fake shit that hasnt been fact checked just so they can get clicks. Half of the "scandals" you read about aren't even remotely accurate or vetted with the studios.

Big movie studios do not own THR. Since this weirdo blocked me, you can see that Penske media owns these publications.
