You ever finish a show that was so good that you just go back to episode one and start rewatching right away?

Chernobyl. Going back into that first episode with all the knowledge you get in the final episode was really nice.

I couldn’t do it. That show was soul sucking. Brilliant. But I needed a break after.

Uh oh, I’m into episode 3 right now. Haven’t watched it before.

You’ll be ok! It’s amazing. Just pretty bleak.

Def one of the best shows ever made. Amazing. Would love to see more from Jared Harris he was incredible in it. Stellan Skarsgaard was amazing as usual too - I watched Andor after Chernobyl and was cool to see him playing such a different role so well.

If you like Jared Harris, he’s really good in The Expanse!

So good, Also Foundation!! It's funny he's in two fairly popular sci-fi streaming shows but very different characters. Lee Pace in Foundation too is amazing

My first thought too. Watched it by myself immediately went back to the first episode the minute the last one finished. Convinced my wife to watch it and did the exact same thing again.

Not great, not terrible.
9
QueasyLegKC Mar 21, 2026 +4
Good god, this would be literally one of my last choices. Not because it’s not good, but because it’s really goddamn good at what it does. That doesn’t lend itself well to rewatches.

Same reason I've never rewatched The Wire even though it's in my S+ tier of shows alongside Better Call Saul and Mad Men

If she was in the original game of thrones we'd have definitely got a 10-15 minute scene exploring Alice and her fingers.
4
Wild_Pokemon_Appears Mar 21, 2026 +2
I'm sure George RR Martin is working on some 100 page fully illustrated book about it. Literally anything but what the fans want (what few fans of the books remain, at this point).
2
geek_of_nature Mar 21, 2026 +14
So glad that they've started on season 2 already, and that it'll be out next year. A fair few shows have been starting to get back to yearly releases and it's amazing to see. Hope it becomes the norm again.
14
Strange_Specialist4 Mar 21, 2026 +5
And shows used to have 20 episode per year each year, now we're lucky to get 6-8 every few years, absolutely kills the momentum
5

Old one. Battlestar Galactica. Also: The Expanse.

McGriffff Mar 21, 2026 +6
I watched The Expanse, then listened to all 9 audio books, now I’m rewatching the show, currently on season 2. I can’t get enough.
6
vondafkossum Mar 21, 2026 +3
There’s a 10th book that collects all the then-previously published novellas and short stories and adds a “new” one: Memory’s Legion. High recommend!
3

Saving that for after this rewatch!

MontiBurns Mar 21, 2026 +13
More time has passed between now and the reboot mini series first airdate than between the original series and the reboot. No, just kidding. We're not there yet. But we are disturbingly close. 1978-2003 - 25 years. 2003-2026 23 years.
13
johnny_johnny_johnny Mar 21, 2026 +4
I remember making fun of my parents for listening to 60s music in the 80s. I'm now listening to 80s music 4 decades later.
4
TheSentientSnail Mar 21, 2026 +2
I did this by accident with the reboot BSG. Found it on a streaming service and didn't know about the miniseries, so I started S1E1. I don't remember how I rationalized the 'previously on' or the flashbacks, but I blazed through S1 and by the time I realized what I'd done, I was full buried in the present narrative and didn't want to go back. At the end, after the series finale, I went back and watched the miniseries. They were all so young, so hopeful, so *clean*. It felt like a weirdly appropriate bookend. All of this has happened before. All of this will happen again. So say we all.

37
bigwiz Mar 21, 2026 +19
Way better second watch after a couple years!
19
Pan_Borowik Mar 21, 2026 +5
For sure, both Wire and Sopranos have so many characters, that a rewatch (of first seasons especially) after youre familiar with them lets you actually catch much more of the plot points. And then subsequent rewatches let you get the nice little details that both shows are filled with. I rewatch Sopranos every 3 or 4 years, and I still catch new stuff each time. And it never gets boring.
5
Kershiser22 Mar 21, 2026 +2
I keep wanting to do a re-watch and introduce it to my wife.
2
eatajerk-pal Mar 21, 2026 +2
The Wire takes at least 2-3 watches to get a real grasp of the immense scope of the series.
2

Yeah, Dark on Netflix. You see the end and you immediately want to rewatch to see everything you missed.

I thought about this show a lot for about 3 weeks after watching. Show constantly blew my mind and kept me guessing the whole time when I usually pick up on whats happening in every other show really fast. Its gotta be watched in its original language, German.
12
Meelapo Mar 21, 2026 +8
100%. It must be watched in German. It adds so much to the mysterious world. It actually makes it a bit spooky.

Ted Lasso. I ended up watching it 2 more times because I rewatched it once and told my Mom she needed to see it so I rewatched it with her. That was last year. More recently, and yeah, I know I'm not alone in this, and it's not because of the spicy scenes, I promise, but Heated Rivalry. It is just a dang good show, with such a realistic/unrealistic story, and phenomenal acting and chemistry between said actors. I've rewatched it many, many, many times. Ted Lasso is the only other show that I've rewatched more than a second time, so this thing with HR is a compete abnormality for me. But...I just learned to embrace it instead of fighting it. Lol. But yeah, normally I don't rewatch too many shows, and even more rarely immediately after having watched it the first time. When I do a rewatch, it's rarely within a year, and more likely, years later.
