Young people of Listnook: why aren't you all being like the 1967 hippies, protesting the war in colorful clothes and starting cool bands?

maybe we just express ourselves in different ways now? like activism looks a bit different these days but a lot of us are still fighting for change, just in ways that suit our generation.

Kids are a lot more motivated to protest wars when they get drafted into them. This is as true then as it is now.

My back hurts, i have cats to feed, the neighbor needs help with her turtle because its barking. But i do protest it by not supporting it. Killing is wrong so war to me is just a big excuse to commit vile acts against another human and steal their lives away.

Those kids became the most destructive generation to those “Hippie” values. They destroyed the future to make like 9 white dudes insanely rich. Abbie Hoffman killed himself largely because of his disappointment in the Boomer generation. And I don’t blame him. Literally the worse American generation to have lived.

Because the hippies rejected materialism. They didn't care about pursuing a career or having the money to pay off bills and such. Kids these days? They are all about materialism.
