Your Friends & Neighbors (Apple): “Whaaaa! it is so hard being a wealthy person in America! Dear Lord won't somebody please think of the rich people?”. This show is like bad fast food that you just can't stop eating, it's terrible but you just keep gobbling it down

“ I hired an expensive construction crew to do a massively expensive landscaping job in the yard around my mansion. And now I don't know if I can afford it. Oh life is so hard!” B****! Try working a real job in the real world while being crushed by student loan debt and being barely able to make your rent each month. Then come talk to me you whiny little c***. Oh have you considered just not spending massive amounts of money on stupid shit? I swear half these characters I just wanna punch them in their stupid face over and over again. Their problems are nearly entirely self inflicted and yet despite having every resource at their disposal all they do is whine and cry like little babies Jon Hamm as a middle-aged high-powered successful business executive who screws up his career because he can't keep his d*** in his pants? Wow. How original. How long did it take you to come up with that creative concept? Don't get me started on the wife who cheats on her massively rich husband with the famous NBA player, and who has a successful career as a therapist, but is deeply unhappy because...? Who knows? She just is OK? Massively wealthy people with no actual real world problems so they have to make make up problems, and then expect you to feel bad for them or something. That's the show. And yet I keep watching! This is like when you're drunk and you buy the worst possible fast food bottom of the barrel c*** and you gobble it down. That's basically what watching this show is like. It's a terrible show but somehow I keep watching it because it is entertaining to me , obviously it must be on some level right? The only decent character in this entire show is the NBA player who is calm and friendly and treats everybody with respect and yet somehow everybody in the whole show does nothing but c*** all over him. And not only that but they do it with an air of moral superiority. Just absurd.

Woman you're completely missing the point here. the show isn't asking you to feel sorry for these people at all - it's literally making fun of them. Like when Jon Hamm's character does something stupid with his career you're supposed to laugh at him not sympathize. Same with the wife who has everything but still finds ways to be miserable. I work retail management and deal with entitled customers all day so trust me I get the frustration with wealthy people problems but this show is basically satirizing exactly what you're complaining about. The writers know these characters are ridiculous and they want you to cringe at their self-created drama. Maybe try watching it as comedy instead of expecting to relate to anyone and it might hit different for you.

Well it would need some funny parts for it to be a comedy. What exactly is funny in this show?

If you dont see the absurdist humor in basically the entire episode where Nick pitches a $30,000 **toilet** to his friends at a party and then one of them pukes in the prototype in the middle of the room immediately following a basketball competition that results inexplicably in a *bone-out* broken leg which also only resulted because Nick offered a basketball competition in order to try to calm down a testosterone fueled aggression by the fat guy  going through his divorce because he cant keep his d*** in his pants.  Or that Jon Hamm, reluctantly attending because Nick slept with his wife, rejects a handshake attempt from Nick by sliding a $32,000 bottle of wine into his hands that he *just* stole 10 minutes earlier. And said wine bottle gets broken by fat d*** aggression like 5 minutes later. The entire sequence is hilarious if you aren't trying to take these people seriously. If you dont get it, I dunno what to tell you. But you dont seem to get the show at all.

Yeah these are not supposed to be good, decent people that have reasonable gripes about their lives. The point is kind of that they are all whiney, arrogant and entitled rich assholes.

Yes, agreed. That's exactly what I said

Uh do you think nba player sleeping with his friends wife is respectful or?

Bluest_waters Apr 15, 2026 -20
They're all doing it! None of them have a leg to stand on judging him. Give me a break. Everyone of them is just as messed up, and they act like they have moral superiority GTFO

It is strange to me how many shows are about shitty ultra wealthy people. Not my kind of entertainment.

i like shows that have nice ultra wealthy people.

You’re describing most wealth p*** shows. White Lotus. Succession. Sirens. Big Little Lies.

Can't argue with that. And honestly I just avoid all of the above shows for those very reasons. But for some reason I just wanna see where the crime aspect of this show goes. I wanna see how far Jon Hamm goes into the crime world

I hate watched it last time. This time I'm skipping it. There are so many great shows out there. I didn't enjoy any bit of it. I just wanted to find out what happened.

I like Jon Hamm and Amanda Peet, but after seeing where the show was headed at the end of season 1, I was done.

If you resent wealth, you'll never attain it.

I feel the same way you do, except I easily stopped watching after episode two. The writing is bland, the plot progression has very little pay off, and I don't care about any of the characters.

Bluest_waters Apr 15, 2026 +1
They never give you a reason to care about any of these characters. Not to mention they're just a collection of well worn tropes disguised as people

eekamuse Apr 15, 2026 +1
I watch lots of shows with people I don't care about. But I don't care about the plot in this one.
