Maybe they can convince Trump to be more cooperative to Ukraine, perhaps with another jet or two

How would that serve Putin, though?

This is a great deal for both I suppose. They both want what the other has plenty.

Also, Iran provided the drones to Russia early on in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. So it’s a chance for Ukraine to push back against Iran and even it out.

He pays with his health. Just look at how much he has aged since the Russians invaded.

He's said that he wants to quit as soon as the war is over. Do not blame him.
Although sadly, Russia will likely try to murder him for the rest of his life.

Probably some very credible tit for tat. Putin's daughter loves to stay in Europe.

A president prepared to suck up to secure the future of their county in an unprovoked war.
What a disgrace.

> Or do you think he just kept quiet for the money?
He is absolutely the greatest wartime leader of his time. He has been fighting off Russia, which has 4 times every resource, for 4 years. He did it by diplomatically rallying external support, by rallying his troops, by making great appointments, by allocating resources. He has turned Russia into a laughable 3rd rate power.
This is about the survival of his nation. Ukraine needs money to acquire war material. Ukraine needs fuel. Ukraine needs to pay its soldiers.
The gulf states need effective anti-drone capability that does not cost $800,000 (FIM-92 Stinger) a shot. Ukraine has that in the Sting drone for $2,100, with triple the range. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sting_(drone). This type has shot down over 4000 Shahed-type drones, in just a few months.
Ukraine has also built an impressive and resilient drone detection system.
People tend to think that they themselves are as moral or immoral as others. Often when people claim some criminal capability in others, they themselves would do that very thing. Either that or you are a Russiabot who just wants to sow dissent.

As the saying goes, "politics makes strange bedfellows".

Zelensky is literally fighting for the survival of his country which has been invaded. It’s ridiculous to expect him to take pointless moral objections and refuse support based because of a journalist’s murder nearly a decade ago.
Most of the world is in bed with these Middle Eastern regimes where human rights abuses are an everyday occurrence. But yes, the extremely vulnerable Ukraine should the ones to take a moral stance 🙄
The is not a line that needs to be drawn.

Gulf States hate Iran. Iran supplied Russia with drones that rain on Ukrainian cities. Same drones now rain on Gulf cities. Ukraine needs money and Gulf state need drone countermeasures.

So you put a life of one journalist ahead of millions of people Zelensky represents. Good job, titan of morality!
