Feels like it would only be odd if there aren't Russian satellites taking pictures of the base every few days (or even daily). This may be a case where there are hundreds of locations where spy satellites are keeping an eye on, just that you do not know which one will be hit. Simply saying "yeah, they are taking pictures of your base" after the attack feels kind of weak - since you can just ask "what about the 99 other targets like the refinery 3 blocks away or the port by the coast?" There is also the matter of "what can you do?" Will you just move assets from the base because it is under constant threat? You have got your defenses set up, and I doubt the base would have nothing to defend against attacks. The base may just be as safe as it can reasonably get.

Ukraine will be a serious world power in a few years' time from now. They're very close already. They're making defense deals with the gulf states after the USA failed to protect those bases. They'll be developing and shipping defense tech soon, in addition to the drone tech.

It's just logical that they want the most disruption possible, while also making the US divert weapons from Ukraine to the ME. I'm surprised China isn't more involved. Russia is already known to have paid bounties for killed U.S. soldiers in the Middle East. Also America has armed Ukraine for the past 4 years and is undoubtedly responsible for a minimum of what… 50k dead from weapons delivered. Of course Russia would do this. The 552nd Air Control Wing (the group this specific E-3 was part of) has been partially deployed to Europe since Russia invaded Ukraine. There's a very high likelihood that that this specific E-3 was periodically aiding Ukraine over the past 4 years.

I have no idea I’ve been trying to think about this. I do know that they would know the location of the satellites. I assume every government knows exactly we’re all these thousands of satellites are in space specifically ones that are designed for aerial imaging. It’s not like every satellite is up there taking photos. It’s probably only a couple hundred satellites up there taking photos. They also rotate around the Earth and that takes however, many hours per day. So I assume it’s something related to that but it’s fascinating to think about the technology.

Russia is providing actionable intelligence to the enemy resulting in them killing and injuring our soldiers and our response is to laugh it off and let them sell more of their oil.

America provides Ukraine with intelligence?

In many of Trump's actions you can see the ultimate expression of the war obsessed, imperialist neo-Cons from a bygone era. It's morbidly fascinating watching those ambitions, which would normally involve thwarting Russia at every possible step, clash with Trump's deranged loyalty to Putin.  And there's really nothing Putin could have in terms of blackmail that would actually threaten Trump at this point, so it seems likely he's bending over for Putin entirely of his own free will. Which is just bizarre. By any measure America is the stronger of the two countries, therefore Trump should see himself as the dominant one between the two of them. But he's such a little b**** where Putin is concerned. Its all just so f****** strange and defies conventional logic.

Trump only cares about one thing, money. He doesn't care if Americans starve, get shot, or that the US turns into a despised, mistrusted country, as long as he and his cronies get more out of it.  He sold the country to the highest bidder and Putin is always bidding..

Zelensky plays the game well considering the cards he's dealing with.

Zelensky knows that the US intelligence already knows what Russian satellites are looking at. What he's really doing is publicly outing that Trump knows and not only does nothing, but continues to soften on Russia.

Russia was in the blink of collapse since 2022 if i remember right according to Ukraine Pravda, and in 2023 Russians were fighting with shovels and using washing machine chips for its missiles.

Russia is not doing well but it was definitely not on the brink of collapse. The Russian state is very stable and has a functioning government and they hold all of their territory while maintaining trade relations with multiple countries.

This won’t refill any coffers, at least not while the war continues, and is possibly a very bad thing for Russia in the short term. They announced just yesterday that they were shutting off all gasoline exports. If prices are high and they need cash so badly, why would they do that? The answer is that high prices globally also mean high prices domestically and the Russian people are already suffering massive inflation and high gas prices at the pumps. This sudden price spike is a big problem for the Kremlin if it can’t keep gas prices down because the Russian people may finally feel the effects of the war on their own lives, and that’s how you get protests, unrest and possibly forced to end the war. In the most extreme case, people may even revolt, but I wouldn’t hold my breath hoping for that.

Because the military analysts of a whole ass ex-superpower at war wouldn’t realize that satellites are useful if not for the victory articles, lol.

What's there to say? More sanctions on Russia? Give Ukraine more weapons? Trump is busy looking for a statue to be build for him.

The US could really use some proven and mass produced drone interceptors like Ukraine has right now. He doesn't need USA to go to war with Russia, he just needs to split the republicans to come on the anti-Russia side and then get a little bit of help from the USA to punish Russia by giving Ukraine some new weapons. It's a logical and calculated move to get USA back to supporting Ukraine. If that means going against Trump, so be it, but it's subtle, sneaky and clever. The orange man will never figure out Zelensky is going around his back straight to american people.
