You ever get the feeling that, hmmm how to put this, perhaps the entertainment world is attempting to venture into the world of professional wrestling Kayfabe? As in fabricating off-camera feuds and stuff between celebrities so they perpetually have reasons to flood the zone with news about specific celebrities they are trying to push. Thought first popped into my head with that whole “Ariana Grande homewrecking Broadway SpongeBob’s marriage”. People already pretend to be in relationships on Broadway for shows, so why not blur the line and take the “show” off-stage? Sure, let the paparazzi “catch” the two out in public. Dude can still go home to his family at the end of the day as long as they are in on the bit too. They get a “perfect” excuse to yap endlessly about Ariana Grande as a “Villain” right around the time Wicked comes out. Then all of a sudden no one seems to talk or give a shit about her and the SpongeBob Guy anymore because it’s all about how “Weird and Witchy Cynthia Erivo is” and “Is she stealing Ariana’s life force?! “Is the cast of Wicked cursed like the cast of Poltergeist?!” That’s the kinda vibe I get from this Zendaya/Sweeney “Feud”. Like Penn & Teller have been together how long? And they famously don’t associate with one another outside of work. There’s no rule that says co-workers have to be friends off the clock, yet they fabricate these stupid ass narratives about two women who barely have time for themselves, let alone a social life. “Oh golly Gee Sydney, so nice to see you again. How long has it been since the last red carpet? Ah yes, just a few days? Anything new with you?
